Creating Bootable USB Drives From Disc Image files
Most of the laptops releasing now a days have no optical drives. Neglecting optical drives allows manufacturer to keep the device slim and light weight. This neglection causes problems when users need to fresh install OS. Operating systems are available in two forms, optical discs and downloadable Image (ISO) files. The only option for users having no optical drives is to install from USB.
And one of the advantages of flash drives is for its faster speeds. Live operating systems burned to USB makes it to access PC's without any OS installed. Third party apps like Rufus, ISO to USB etc are available.
step 3: Choose NTFS instead of FAT32
step 4: Check the box "Create a bootable disk using" to select ISO image. Click the button right and locate your ISO file.
step 5: Click start to format your disk and to extract files to it.
Using Rufus to create Bootable USB device
Rufus is an open source software used to burn ISO files to bootable USB. Rufus is faster at creating bootable USB's and its size is less than 1 MB. Portable vertion of rufus is also available.
Download Rufus from its official site. Now double click on the .exe file to install it.
step 1: Choose Device to be made Bootable.
step 2: There is no need to modify partition scheme or target system.
step 3: Choose NTFS instead of FAT32
step 4: Check the box "Create a bootable disk using" to select ISO image. Click the button right and locate your ISO file.
step 5: Click start to format your disk and to extract files to it.
